Mersin Bilişim Danışmanlık Ltd. (MEBID) is an informatics and consultancy firm established in 2011 and headquartered in Mersin Teknopark (TECHNOSCOPE) at the Mersin University Campus. The company is an academic company and was founded by Mersin University Academicians and experts who previously implemented major quality standards—such as ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and EFQM—within Mersin University. Its foundation was supported by a KOSGEB R&D and Innovation Project focused on University Quality Asasurance and Management Systems. MEBID – Mersin Informatics Consultancy Co., Ltd. is a research and innovation company based in Mersin Technoscope Technology Development Zone (Teknopark), Türkiye. The company develops digital systems, applied research projects and international collaborations in the fields of technology, education and sustainability. MEBID works with universities, research institutions and public organisations to design and implement innovative digital solutions and international research projects, particularly within European and national funding frameworks.
The firm’s core activities are divided into five primary areas:
- Research & Innovation and Entrepreneurship – Oriented MOOC Courses. It has already developed an AI-Oriented R&I Management MOOC Platform and got the completion certificate from the Ministry of technology and Industry
- Quality Systems: Providing consultancy, training, software development, installation, and certification services.
- Software Development: Creating specialized products like University Management Information Systems (U-MIS)
- Consultancy: Offering a wide range of services including R&D documentation, investment project analysis, and feasibility reports.
- Horizon Europe, PRIMA, EUREKA,COST, DIGITAL EUROPE, Interreg NEXT MED and R&I&E – Oriented Projects (National & International).
MEBID has successfully completed a diverse portfolio of projects for both public and private sectors. Notable clients include Adana Science and Technology University (ISO 9001 for HE and IS0 17025 for HE), Fatih Sultan Mehmet University, and the Union of Municipalities of Turkey. Their project history includes the modeling of higher education processes using BPM technology, conducting situation analyses for Syrian refugees for sequa GmbH, and providing feasibility reports for high-tech TUBITAK and KOSGEB projects involving aerospace, chemical disinfectants, and biotechnology. The company lastly shared its project-development and MOOC experiences with Mersin University and contributed to the project STEM4INNO prepared under the call EIT HEI Initiative – 2025 via Abdi Kurt (founder) who also gives coordination support to the Mersin TTO.
Harika Eryılmaz – Co-Founder | General Manager (from that date March 15th, 2026 on) Director of Research and International Projects. Harika Eryılmaz is a researcher and educator working in the fields of education, culture and interdisciplinary research. She leads research development and international project initiatives within MEBID and contributes to interdisciplinary research activities carried out through Lecturary, the research and innovation platform of MEBID. Her work focuses on developing innovative perspectives in education and human meaning-making, while supporting the design of international research and innovation projects.
Abdi Kurt – Co-Founder | Coordination and development of the R&I&E Projects. Abdi Kurt is an research and innovation ecosystem specialist and accredited (by TUBITAK – The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye, based on 1613 TTP Projects technology transfer professional (TTP) with over 25 years of international experience in R&I&E development, and EU-funded programs. Based in Mersin, Türkiye, he works on strengthening the link between academia, industry, and innovation-driven economic development. Throughout his career, he has contributed to numerous international initiatives focusing on research commercialization, innovation policy, and institutional capacity building across Europe, the Middle East, and US. His work includes developing and coordinating projects under European programs such as Horizon Europe and Interreg NEXT MED. Abdi Kurt actively supports universities, startups, and innovation actors in transforming research outputs into market-oriented solutions. He has participated in international innovation programs organized by organizations such as EIT Digital and has engaged with global innovation ecosystems including Silicon Valley (Connect&Experience, San Fancisco – US). His professional interests include technology transfer, innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship support, and international research and innovation collaboration.
